Locus Aircraft- Electric Light

Excited by the challenge and adventure of flying? So are we. Thinking about flying lessons? The best place to begin that journey is a Cessna Pilot Center. Flight training is completed in up-to-date aircraft with the latest in aviation technology and because the CPC training program is so comprehensive and efficient, pilots earn their licenses an average of 30% faster nationally.

Pilgrim Aviation is the Plymouth area’s authorized Cessna Pilot Center. We provide primary and advanced flight training at Plymouth Municipal Airport (PYM), and Nashua Airport – Boire Field (ASH) in well maintained airplanes with high-time, quality instructors. We are dedicated to providing a safe and efficient experience and have invested in the state-of-the-art equipment to get your flying dreams off the ground!

GROUND SCHOOL
Take the first step to become a pilot! Learning to fly requires the academic knowledge to understand how, where, and when to fly safely. This is accomplished in aviation ground school. Our Private Pilot Ground School is designed to cover all knowledge areas required by the regulations for a private pilot certificate and is designed to make learning to fly easy and fun. You can join at any time and learn at your own pace. Call ahead for times and location. (508) 747 – 7776

FLIGHT TRAINING
Our flight schools provide primary and advanced flight training in our own fleet of low-time, well maintained aircraft. When investing in pilot training to earn your wings, why not take your flying lessons at an authorized Cessna Pilot Center in safe, later-model airplanes? You have the flexibility to pay as you go, or leave funds on account. We accept credit cards and checks for all our flight services. Financing options are also available.

Pilgrim Aviation’s primary flight training is broken into three stages:

INTRODUCTORY FLIGHT A short flight with an instructor that introduces the student to the basic process of flight. This hands on experience allows you to be the pilot and fly the airplane for your first time. Feel the excitement of flying an airplane during a no obligation introductory flight lesson.

PRE-SOLO A period of instruction with the flight instructor in the plane covering the required maneuvers leading up to a solo endorsement. Once a student shows proficiency, he or she will receive a solo endorsement, allowing them to practice their flying ability on their own.

POST-SOLO After receiving the solo endorsement, a flight student will make solo flights and instructional flights to complete the requirements for the certificate sought. When a student is able to consistently demonstrate all of the FAA-required skills, the instructor will make a recommendation for the FAA check ride.

*SPORT PILOT TRAINING The Sport Pilot certificate training takes half the required time of a private pilot certificate (20 hours). Sport pilots are not required to have an FAA medial certificate as long as they hold a valid drivers license and self-certify that they are fit to fly. Sport pilots can only fly special light sport aircraft (S-LSA) and experimental light sport aircraft (E-LSA). Pilgrim Aviation’s 2013 Cessna 162 Skycatcher is an S-LSA.

Pilgrim Aviation also provides training for achieving an instrument rating, high performance endorsement, and complex endorsement:

INSTRUMENT RATING The instrument rating is a valuable addition to a pilot’s skills. On days that would normally ground a VFR pilot, an instrument rating would allow that pilot to fly in weather conditions below VFR minimums.

HIGH PERFORMANCE ENDORSEMENT A high performance airplane is over 200 hp, and a pilot requires a high performance endorsement from an authorized instructor.

COMPLEX ENDORSEMENT A complex airplane has retractable landing gear, constant speed propeller, and flaps. A complex endorsement is a one time sign off by a certified flight instructor.

Primary and advanced flight training is done in accordance with Part 61 of the Federal Aviation Regulations which specifies the minimum number of hours required for the certificate sought. At Pilgrim Aviation, flight training is provided by our staff of highly qualified flight instructors.
