Editorial Focus

Airplane Reading is a site that features nonfiction writing about air travel.

Beyond throwaway entertainment or mere distraction, we see airplane reading as a kind of storytelling that can animate, reflect on, and rejuvenate the experience of flight.

We welcome nonfiction submissions (up to 1000 words) that are related to air travel. These might include personal stories, anecdotes, observations, recollections, speculations, insights, etc.

A collection of the editors' favorite essays, Airplane Reading, is forthcoming from Zero Books in 2016.
